Our booth at ARCO Madrid was part of the OPENING Section curated by Övül Ö. Durmusoglu and Julia Morandeira and dedicated to young galleries. We presented a dialogue between the Polish artist Ania Bąk and the Libyan artist Nour Jaouda.

VIII OPENING BY ALLIANZ AWARD

​

Our booth presentation won the VIII OPENING by Allianz Award. A jury made up of Spanish and foreign curators and professionals has decided to award eastcontemporary as the best space among the galleries particiapting in OPENING. The Committee included Yina Jimenez, Curator at large, Caribbean Art Initiative, Adeena Mey, Afterall Managing Editor, Claudia Segura, MACBA and Bernardo Mosqueira, ISLAA New Museum Curatorial Fellow.

MUSEUM ACQUISITION

 

The installation Wind is the Compass of the Stranger's North by Nour Jaouda has been selected by Manuel Segade and Vincent Honoré and acquired by Fundacion ARCO for Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo. The work will be part of its permanent collection.
